Your ideal clients and finding Facebook Groups to connect you with them 🦄

Today's lesson involves two things. Working our your ideal industry or types of clients you want to work with and then finding places to connect with them.

When you are a freelance virtual assistant, you are working for yourself, you get to call the shots and decide what that looks like. Which includes, which clients you want to work with.

Deciding which clients to work with, is also known as discovering your customer avatar, or ideal client avatar (ICA), basically your perfect client.

You may choose to work with a specific type of business or in a particular industry.

Which means a) you can narrow down how to find those customers and b) you could tailor your skills to them. For example if you have a medical background, you could learn medical transcription.

If you're working with online entrepreneurs, you may choose to learn about click funnels or leadpages software, to create sales funnels.

Once you've decided who your ideal clients are (and there is no right or wrong, you choose your own ideal clients), then you need to find them.

Facebook groups are one of the easiest ways to connect with people needing virtual assistant services, so your mission today is to find at least 5 or ideally 10 Facebook groups to join and interact in. Ideally the groups would have at least 5000 members.

Be resourceful, you may have to try a few different search phrases to find groups, research is an important virtual assistant skill, so use this opportunity to practice that.

Before you start joining groups, I want you to repeat after me, this pledge:

I will not spam 😊

One of the most common mistakes new virtual assistants make with Facebook groups, is spamming. Basically going into the group shouting BUY MY VA SERVICES!!!!!

It is really important to focus on the needs of your clients first - not your need to get work.

Build relationships, do some chit chatting and small talk. Help someone with a problem if you know the answer to what they need.

THEN make it about what you want (which we will get to tomorrow).
